What is Anti checkers?

Anti checkers — English giveaway — keeps the American board and movement rules but flips who wins.

The reversed goal

In American checkers you eliminate the other army. In Anti checkers you want to be the first side with no legal move, or with no pieces left on the board.

Captures are still mandatory. You win by steering the opponent through jumps that empty your side, not by refusing to move.

Piece movement matches American checkers; only who wins is reversed.

Movement, forced jumps, and short kings are the same as on the home page. See American checkers for the standard win condition.

How giveaway endings work

Giveaway patterns to try

Feed-and-run

Align men on one diagonal so the opponent must chew through several in a single mandatory turn.

Delay crowning

A man marching forward is often easier to sacrifice than a king that can retreat.

Pick the jump line

When choices exist, take the capture that leaves the fewest safe replies for the opponent.

Elsewhere on Checkerso

Daily runs a shared American puzzle each local calendar day. Anti has its own Easy, Medium, and Hard pages with the same giveaway rules.

Pool checkers uses the same 8×8 start with backward jumps and flying kings — a sharp change of pace from giveaway.
